Rowan University - Glassboro State College Hall of Fame
Sandy Duda excelled in two sports from 1990-93, receiving All-American honors in both field hockey and lacrosse. She earned the distinction of being the first athlete at Rowan to receive All-American status in two team sports.
In her junior and senior field hockey seasons, Duda was a selection to both the All-Region First Team and the All-NJAC First Team. She was chosen as the NJAC Midfielder of the Year in 1992, becoming the first Prof to win the award, and blazing the trail for 13 others to do so in later years. Â
The native of Cherry Hill, NJ, totaled 18 assists in her career which is tied for 24th on Rowan’s all-time list. She was a member of the Profs’ squads which were the first to earn berths in the NCAA Tournament.
Duda was chosen to the All-America team in lacrosse in 1993, becoming one of the first Rowan lacrosse players to receive first-team honors. An attack player, Duda amassed 186 points in her career, with 130 goals and 56 assists, and her total of goals is tied as the 15th highest in school history.
