Michael Burden was an All-Conference performer for the men’s basketball team which won back-to-back NJAC Championships and finished third in the NCAA Tournament.
 
Burden was a two-time selection to the All-NJAC Team, receiving second-team honors in 1993 and first-team honors in 1994, while also being named to the All-State First Team and the All-Philadelphia Area team that same year. The center totaled 1,036 points and 689 rebounds in his four-year career from 1990 to 1994.
 
He was a member of the Profs’ teams that won the conference titles in 1993 and 1994 and recorded a third-place finish in the 1993 NCAA Tournament.
 
Burden, who graduated from Rowan with his degree in health and physical education in 1995, went on to a college coaching career. After serving as an assistant coach with the Profs in 1997-98, he had stints at Cornell, Main, Delaware State, Lafayette and Florida International.
