Charles Earling was a four-year member of the Glassboro State baseball team while serving the athletics department in other support roles from 1966 to 1970.

After his four years as a catcher, he served as an assistant coach with the baseball team for one season. Earling was also a member of the football team for one year and then worked as a statistician for the football, baseball and basketball teams.

As a senior, Earling was the president of the GSC Men’s Athletic Association and the Bureau of Athletics, and received the Albert F. White Award, the Glassboro State College Indoor Games Service Award and was named a Distinguished Senior Graduate.

After earning his bachelor’s degree in 1970, he embarked on a lengthy career in teaching and administration at the high school level.
