Smith College

A standout infielder, Harris lettered in baseball for four years and was captain of the squad his senior year. He led the team in hits and runs scored and had a .420 batting average as a senior.  He earned All-Conference honors and was signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Harris received the Albert F. White Award and the Roland Esbjornson Sportsmanship Award.
 
In addition, he played four years of varsity basketball. Harris graduated from Millville High School in 1956.
