John Adams was a three-year letterwinner for Glassboro State basketball team and earned All-Conference honors from the New Jersey State Athletic Conference in both his junior and senior seasons.

The two-year team captain was chosen to the All-New Jersey Second Team twice and was named a Little Academic All-American for two consecutive years.

Serving as president of the Letterman’s Club for two years, Adams earned his bachelor’s degree in education in 1986 and then received his master’s degree from Montclair State in 1971. Adams had a lengthy career in college athletics, first as an administrator and coach at William Paterson before serving as the director of athletics at Rutgers-Newark for 18 years.
