Rowan University - Glassboro State College Hall of Fame
She was a coach of the college’s field hockey and lacrosse teams. Rice had a major impact on the development of women’s athletics at Glassboro. She also served as women’s athletic director and was involved with numerous athletic committees and organizations.
Rice was a member of the New Jersey Association for Health and Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. She received the organization’s Professional Service Award, Outstanding Leadership Award and Honor Fellow Award. At Trenton State College, she was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame. From the College Athletic Administrators of New Jersey, Rice received the Garden State Award.
She graduated from Trenton State in 1936 and earned her master’s and doctorate from Temple University in 1943 and 1959 respectively. Rice was on the board of directors for the Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women and director of the National Championships for Division III Colleges and Universities.
