Robert Belle is the basketball program’s all-time leading rebounder, setting the record when he played for Glassboro State from 1954 to 1958.
 
He gathered 1,209 rebounds, which still stands as the school record, along with his career average of 15.5 rebounds per game. Belle, who earned All-State honors, became the school’s second player to record 1,000 points in his career when he hit the milestone in January of 1958 and finished his career with 1,262 points. He was twice named the team’s Most Valuable Player.
 
Belle earned his bachelor’s degree in 1954 and went on to receive a master’s degree from Seton Hall and his Ed.D. from Lehigh. At the time of his induction he was the director of minority student services at the University of Central Florida.
