John Yurkow made his mark on the diamond and in the Rowan record books, playing a role in the winning tradition of Prof baseball.

A three-time All-NJAC First Team selection, the second baseman closed out his career by being named to the ABCA All-America Second Team in 1999. He was also a two-time selection to the All-Mid-Atlantic Region Team in 1998 and 1999.

Yurkow remains the program's all-time leader in career runs (179) and walks (176) in 150 games played, while ranking among the top 10 in career stolen bases (55). He led the NCAA in walks in 1997 with 56 and currently ranks fifth in the NCAA record book for walks per game in a season (1.47). His career total of 176 walks still stands as the fifth-best mark in NCAA Division III.

Yurkow, from Willliamstown, NJ, helped the Profs to four straight NCAA Regionals and in 1999, Rowan went 36-8, which at the time, was the school record for wins. The squad captured the conference title and the senior was named the NJAC Championship MVP.
