Kate Gehret was a three-sport athlete for the Profs from 1975 to 1979 and made her mark in basketball as one of the program’s top scorers.

She became the second player in Glassboro State history to surpass 1,000 points for her career and at the time of her graduation, stood as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,032. Although that record has since been broken, she remains among the top 15 scorers in Rowan/GSC history. Gehret topped the team in points, rebounds and steals during her sophomore, junior and senior seasons, including her 23.5 scoring average in 1978, which was the fourth best on the East Coast.

Gehret was chosen as the College Player of the Year by the Basketball Club of South Jersey and participated for the New Jersey All-Star Team.
