Hodgins-Kuenzel swam from 1993-97. She was a two-time All-American and seven-time All-American honorable mention. Hodgins-Kuenzel took first place in the 200 butterfly (2:13.29) and 1650 freestyle (17:54.14) at the 1994 Metropolitan Championships. She was on the 13th place 200 medley (1:54.80) and 400 medley (4:10.86) relays at the NCAA Division III Championships for All-America honorable mention. Hodgins-Kuenzel also swam a school record time of 17:51.77 in the 1650 freestyle for 11th place and All-America honorable mention.
Hodgins-Kuenzel was on the 400 medley relay that was eighth at the 1995 national championships with a school record time of 4:02.55 for All-America honors. Hodgins-Kuenzel was also a member of the 800 freestyle relay that had a 10th place (7:58.94) to earn All-America honorable mention. She was ninth (2:11.40) in the 200 butterfly and 12th (17:53.75) in the 1650 freestyle for All-America honorable mention.
Hodgins-Kuenzel added another All-America performance at the 1996 NCAA Division III Championships as part of the eighth place (3:39.07) 400 freestyle relay. She was also on the 800 freestyle relay that finished 16th (8:06.31) and received All-America honorable mention. Hodgins-Kuenzel had four school record swims in her career and still holds the University mark in the 1000 freestyle (10:40.93), set in March 1994.
She was a four-year team captain and was named to the 1994-95 NCAA All-Academic Team. In 1997, Hodgins-Kuenzel received the Evelyn M. Reade Athletic Award. She graduated in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in education. Hodgins-Kuenzel is a 1993 graduate of Holmdel High School.
