Coach Oscar Moore guided the 1983 Glassboro State Men’s Track & Field Team to its fourth consecutive NCAA Championship. The Profs totaled 97 points in the meet to best Hamline (94) and Mount Union (84.5).

Stanley Moore became a two-time NCAA Champion in the meet as he picked up wins in both the 110- and 400-meter hurdles, clocking times of 14.01 and 52.39, respectively.
 
Anthony Abicca placed third (14.69) in the 110-meter hurdles while Willie Lawson also had a third- place finish (47.49) in the 400 meters. Robert Rimkis finished third (9:05.33) in the 3000-meter steeplechase and Peter Sharpless took fifth (6’ 10.25”) in the high jump.
 
Other top finishers and All-Americans for the Profs were Pierre Reid, seventh place (14.90) in the 110 hurdles, Ronald Deckert, who was eighth in the 5000 meters (14:39.45), and David Wirth with an eighth-place finish in the javelin (194’ 5”).
