A pitcher, Schwartz holds the NCAA record for consecutive victories with 37.  He compiled a career mark of 38-3 (2002-05) in 45 starts and had a 2.03 earned run average (ERA).  Schwartz was named the NJAC Pitcher of the Year and to the All-Conference first team three times.

He was selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association All-America first team in 2005 and 2004 and the second team in 2003.  His final season, he was the Mid-Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Year and a member of the All-Region first team.  Schwartz was also selected the Most Valuable Player at the 2005 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional and was chosen to the Regional All-Tournament Team.

He holds the school marks for shutouts in a season (4) and career (8), victories in a season (13) and a career (38) and lowest career ERA. In 2005, Schwartz was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals. At the University, he earned a bachelor’s in health and exercise science. 

Schwartz is an assistant baseball coach at the University of Pennsylvania.
