GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's track & field team won the Oscar Moore Invitational on Friday. The Profs scored 273 points and took first 12 of the 18 events.
Aaniyah Robinson (so. Totowa, NJ/Passaic County Tech.) won the 100 meter dash in 12.75 and
Kierston Johnson (fr. Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) followed second with a time of 13.02.
Darielle Cross (jr. Cliffwood, NJ/Matawan Reg.) placed third (13.09) and
Sidney McLeod-Whitener (so. Philadelphia, PA/Friends' Central School) was sixth (13.44).
Myiah Sturdivant (so. Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek Reg.) claimed first in the 200 meters, crossing the line in 27.07.
Nicole Notarianni (so. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) finished sixth in 28.27 and McLeod-Whitener was eighth (28.39). Notaranni also competed in the 100 meter hurdles and placed second in 15.89. Cross was next in third (16.03) and
Leilanie Hinton (fr. Paterson, NJ/Passaic County Tech.) earned fourth (18.33).
Sturdivant was victorious in the 400 meters, recording a time of 58.57.
Claire Incantalupo (sr. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) had a second place in 59.50, while
Melina Johnson (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) was fourth (1:01.61).
Rowan took the top four spots in the 400 meter hurdles. Dani
Nicklas (jr. Bellmawr, NJ/Audubon) finished first in 1:07.06, Mahon McClellan (fr. Hainesport, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) was second (1:14.44), while
Nicole Herrera (jr. Lake Hiawatha, NJ/Parsippany) and
Dajai McClellan (jr. Sicklerville, NJ/Highland Reg.) were third (1:14.56) and fourth (1:28.16) respectively.
In the 1500 meters,
Lindsey Hofschneider (fr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) earned first with a time of 5:10.08 and
Jennie Sabol (jr. Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown) was third in 5:26.26.
Dianne Ferraro (so. South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) and
Madison Edwards (fr. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) took the top two places in the 3000 meters. Ferraro was first in 10:53.05 and Edwards came in second in 10:53.12.
Carley Tool (fr. Shamong, NJ/Seneca) followed fourth (11:13.97),
Jess Nguyen (jr. Plainsboro, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro N.) was fifth (11.31.31) and
Brianna De la Cruz (so. Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) claimed eighth (11:42.36).
Morgan Carr (fr. Hardyston, NJ/Wallkill Valley Reg.) won the javelin throw with a season best distance of 113' 2" (34.49 m).
Michelle Macauley (sr. Somerset, NJ/Franklin Twp.) placed first in the long jump with a mark of 17' 4.75" (5.30 m).
Kierston Johnson (fr. Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) finished third (16' 4.50", 4.99 m),
Ashley Edwards (fr. Parlin, NJ/Sayreville War Mem.) was fifth (15' 2.25", 4.63 m) and
LaNiece Brown (so. Hillside, NJ/Hillside) earned seventh (14' 6.75", 4.44 m). Macauley also participated in the triple jump and notched second with a leap of 33' 6.50" (10.22 m).
Kari DiTonno (jr. Livingston, NJ/Livingston) placed first in the pole vault, clearing a height of 10' 0" (3.05 m). DiTonno also took second in the high jump with a mark of 5" 0.25" (1.53 m).
Chelsea Smith (fr. Gibbstown, NJ/Paulsboro) won the discus throw with a toss of 115' 4" (35.15 m).
Olivia Scattergood (so. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) followed third (109' 11", 33.52 m) and
Makayla Taylor (fr. Randolph, NJ/Randolph) claimed fifth (109' 5", 33.36 m).
The 4x100 meter relay "A" team of
Aspen McMillan (sr. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick), Cross, Robinson and McLeod-Whitener crossed the line in first with a time of 50.64. The "B" squad of McClellan, Johnson, Hinton and Edwards came in third (52.88).
The 4x200 meter relay team consisting of
Kierston Johnson,
Melina Johnson, McClellan and Brown finished first with a time of 1:50.93.
The women's track & field team heads to the Coach P Invitational on Friday-Saturday, April 12-13, with the first day starting at 3 p.m. and the second at 10 a.m.
