SEWELL, NJ – The Rowan University women's cross country team finished 16th at the Inter-Regional Border Battle on Saturday.  The meet was held at Rowan College at Gloucester County.
 
There were 24 schools from the NCAA Atlantic and Mideast Regions and 229 runners that competed.  Catherine Dougherty (sr. Deptford, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) was the first Prof to cross the finish line.  She came in 63rd over the 6K course with a time of 22:45.56.  Onyi Obelle (sr. Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) was 70th in 22:52.50.  Jessalynn Wright (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) took 88th (23:23.29).
 
Alexis Conte (jr. Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat) and Jennifer Klavens (fr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) were 137th (24:13.02) and 150th (24:31.64) respectively.  Morgan Shea (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) had a 154th place (24:34.48).  Claire Corbett (jr. Mount Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) finished 166th (24:48.94) and Vanessa Valdes (jr. Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) followed 171st (24:56.45). 
 
In the open race, Lisa Leszcynski (sr. Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) came in 54th (25:07.34).  Alexis Hoerter (so. Dorothy, NJ/St. Joseph (Hammonton)) had a 73rd place (25:50.29) and Nieemah Powers (jr. Glassboro, NJ/Camden County Technical School) was 77th (26:04.58).  Kate Twilley (fr. Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) took 83rd (26:21.77) and Christina Ricci (sr. Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood) came in 86th (26:32.11).  Casey Bleistine (fr. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) and Hillary Gooding (fr. Somerset, NJ/Franklin) were 98th (27:15.16) and 101st (27:28.07) respectively.
