CORTLAND, NY – The Rowan University women's outdoor track & field team took third place at the All-Atlantic Track & Field Conference Championships on Thursday.
The Profs scored 81 points. Ithaca College won the team title with 107 points. The two-day meet was held at SUNY Cortland.
Darielle Cross (jr. Cliffwood, NJ/Matawan Reg.) won the 100 meter hurdles and broke the meet record with a time of 14.26. The previous mark of 14.62 was held by Cross set at last year's championships.
Aspen McMillan (sr. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) followed in second (14.41), while
Ashley Edwards (fr. Parlin, NJ/Sayreville War Mem.) was seventh (15.76).
The 4x100 meter relay team of
Myiah Sturdivant (so. Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek Reg.),
Aaniyah Robinson (so. Totowa, NJ/Passaic County Tech.),
Sidney McLeod-Whitener (so. Philadelphia, PA/Friends' Central School) and Cross claimed first with a time of 47.64. Sturdivant also won the 400 meters with a season best time of 56.24.
Hannah Vendetta (sr. Pitman, NJ/Pitman) took second in the 1500 meters in 4:44.36, while
Dianne Ferraro (so. South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) finished fourth (4:46.43) and
Alyssa Sanders (so. Pitman, NJ/Pitman) was sixth (4:48.12).
In the 100 meter dash, Robinson crossed the line in third placed with a time of 12.19 and McLeod-Whitener came in seventh (12.55).
Dani Nicklas (jr. Bellmawr, NJ/Audubon) earned sixth in the 400 meter hurdles with a season top time of 1:04.57.
Claire Incantalupo (sr. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) placed seventh in the 800 meters in 2:20.33.
Makayla Taylor (fr. Randolph, NJ/Randolph) took seventh in the shot put, throwing a season top mark of 39' 7.25" (12.07 m).
In the 200 meters, Sturdivant and
Kierston Johnson (fr. Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) took 10th (26.03) and 11th (26.34) respectively.
Melina Johnson (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) placed 16th with a time of 26.73.
Rowan travels to the NCAA Division III Championships at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, OH, on Thursday-Saturday, May 23-25.
