GLASSBORO, NJ – Rowan's
Johnny Troiano and
Aiden McGuigan have been named to the 2025 Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team as chosen by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Both Profs are receiving the honor for the second year in a row, while in 2024, Troiano went on to earn a spot on the Academic All-America Team.
Troiano closed out his career as the two-time NJAC Offensive Player of the Year, becoming the first Prof to receive the honor in back-to-back seasons. He led the NJAC in scoring with 19 goals and 43 points and had two hat tricks, while earning selection to the All-NJAC First Team for the third year in a row.
The senior law and justice major is a nominee to earn his second selection to the CSC Academic All-America Team. He has been named a Rowan Scholar-Athlete of Distinction for three consecutive years and was last year's Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Performer of the Year for men's soccer.
McGuigan, a starter in all 24 matches, played a key role on the Profs' defense this year as Rowan limited its foes to just 1.04 goals per game and posted a total of nine shutouts. The senior contributed one assist this year, in the 2-0 win over Wesleyan (CT) that vaulted the Profs into the NCAA Sweet 16.
Aside from also earning the All-District honor in 2024, the law and justice studies major is a three-time Rowan Scholar-Athlete of Distinction and has earned NJAC All-Academic Honorable Mention twice.
Rowan (17-4-4) ended the year in the NCAA Sweet 16 for the second time since 2019. The Profs were ranked in the Top 25 for the majority of the season and captured their second straight NJAC title.
