Troiano and Cleary Named Scholar All-Americans by the United Soccer Coaches; Marks First Time the Profs Have Two Honorees

KANSAS CITY, MO – Johnny Troiano and Ryan Cleary of Rowan have been named 2025 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-Americans, with Troiano earning selection to the First Team and Cleary being chosen to the Second Team. It marks the first time that Rowan has placed two student-athletes on the Men's Soccer Scholar All-America Team.

Troiano, who was also a Scholar All-America in 2024, has earned a host of honors this year for his performance on the field and in the classroom. He was named the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® Men's Soccer Division III Team Member of the Year and was the only repeat selection to the Division III Academic All-America® Team. A Law & Justice Studies major, he was the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Performer of the Year for the second consecutive season as well.

The senior forward became a two-time selection to the All-America Third Team while he was named the NJAC Offensive Player of the Year for the second year in a row, becoming the first Prof to win the award twice. He picked up his third nod to the All-Region First Team and also his third to the All-Conference Team.

Troiano led the NJAC with a career-high 19 goals and added five assists for 43 points to go along with six game-winning goals. He ranks among the top scorers in Rowan history, his career ranking third in career goals (55) and fourth in points (131).

Cleary, a finance major, has been a mainstay on defense for the Profs for the past four years. He was named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region Team along with Troiano and was named to the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Team for the second year in a row. He was chosen as the 2025 NJAC Defensive Player of the Year, culminating a career in which he was an All-Conference selection for all four seasons, including three times on the First Team. Cleary earned All-Region honors for the third time in 2025, with back-to-back seasons on the All-Region First Team.

This season, Cleary keyed the Profs' defense that allowed just 1.08 goals per game and registered five shutouts. He also contributed offensively, scoring two goals and tying for the team lead in assists with eight.

The duo helped the Profs finish with a 17-4-4 record, advancing to the third round of the NCAA Tournament after winning their second straight NJAC Championship. Rowan was ranked #12 in the final United States Soccer Top 25.
