MADISON, NJ-
Jay Vandermark scored his second game-winning goal in as many days to help the #15 Rowan men's soccer team to a 2-1 win over FDU-Florham in the championship game of the Drew Fall Classic, as the Profs improved to 2-0 on the year.
Rowan goalkeeper
James Weinberg was named the Defensive MVP of the tournament and
Jay Vandermark was chosen as the Offensive MVP.
Vandermark and
Wilby Alfred connected for the second time in the tournament as Alfred sent a ball up the middle and Vandermark connected at 83:38 to give the Profs the win.
Freshman
Gil Ferreira scored his first collegiate goal at 21:10, with the assist from
Alex Ferrara, to put the Profs up 1-0.
FDU-Florham tied the game in the 72
nd minute, then setting the stage for Vandermark to give the Profs the win.
Rowan dominated, outshooting FDU, 27-4, while goalkeeper
James Weinberg made one save to earn the win.
The Profs are on the road again this week when they head to York College for a match on Wednesday.
