PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Rowan University women's cross country team took second place at the Philadelphia Metro Championships. The 5K course was at Belmont Plateau.
For the second straight week,
Alyssa Sanders (jr. Pitman, NJ/Pitman) was the individual champion. She ran a winning time of 19:57.3.
Madison Edwards (so. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) came in seventh (20:38.5) while
Haley Adams (so. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) finished 13
th (21:09.4) and
Sha'Lynn Clarke (fr. Sicklerville, NJ/Glassboro) was 16
th(21:28.2).
Dianne Ferraro (jr. South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) was the Profs' fifth runner to score in 19
th place (21:46.4).
Emily Rooney (fr. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) crossed the finish line, 20
th (21:47.9) while
Gina Capone (so. Mount Laurel, NJ/Bordentown Reg.) and
Jennie Sabol (sr. Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown) were 21
st (21:50.0) and 22
nd (21:57.2) respectively. Rowan had a team score of 56 points behind Division II West Chester University with 31. There were 12 teams that competed at the championships.
