Box Score ROCHESTER, NY – Rowan University midfielder Shane Kohler hit the back of the net with one-second on the clock, giving the men's soccer team a 2-1 victory over Rochester Institute of Technology on Tuesday afternoon.
 
It was the season opener for both teams. Kohler (sr. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central Reg.) found the ball on his foot off a rebound in the RIT box. Midfielder Vinny Ignatowicz (jr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River S.) was credited with the assist.
 
The Tigers took a 1-0 lead at the 24:37 mark as forward Gene Sicoli (fr. Commack, NY/Commack) scored on a free kick from the top of the box. The Profs tied the game when defender Will Sjaastad (fr. Allentown, NJ/Allentown) headed the ball in off a pass from Kohler with 45-seconds to play in the first half.
 
Rowan goalie Kyle Dennis (fr. South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) made four saves in his first collegiate start. RIT keeper Mark Reeves (sr. Macedon, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) stopped two shots in 55:51 of action and Peter Cinibulk (fr. Bellbrook, OH/Bellbrook) tallied three saves in the final 34:09.
 
Rowan heads back to upstate New York this weekend for the North Country Classic. The Profs take on St. Lawrence University on Saturday, Sept. 5 at noon.
