Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men's soccer team fell to Elizabethtown College, 2-1 in overtime on Friday night in the Gilmore Alumni Classic. It was the season opener for both teams.
 
Elizabethtown midfielder Scott Hess (fr. Hanover, PA/South Western) scored the game-winner off an assist from forward Cal Graziano (jr. Pennington, NJ/Hopewell Valley Central) at the 94:45 mark in the first overtime.

The Blue Jays took a 1-0 lead in the opening half on an unassisted tally by forward Shane Votto (jr. Ardmore, PA/Lower Merion) with 39:39 on the clock. Rowan tied the game with 4:28 to play in the second half on an unassisted goal by back Garrett Hoagland (fr. Woolwich Twp., NJ/Kingsway Reg.). The goal was assisted by midfielder Jake Connors (fr. Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan).

 
Rowan recorded 10 shots and Elizabethtown had nine. The Blue Jays' goalkeeper Justin Signora (sr. Garnet Valley, PA/Archmere Academy (DE)) made five saves. Prof goalie Kevin Vasta (sr. Randolph, NJ/Randolph) stopped four shots.
 
In the first game on Friday, #1 Messiah College defeated The College of New Jersey, 2-1. On Saturday, The College of New Jersey faces Elizabethtown at 5 p.m. and Rowan takes on #1 Messiah at 7 p.m.
