NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA – The Rowan University women's cross country team won the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday.  There were a total of 29 teams in the varsity race.

Christin Bettis (so. Hammonton, NJ/Hammonton) was the first Prof to cross the finish line on the 5K course.  She came in third with a time of 18:16.67.  Meghan Borz (sr. Buena, NJ/Buena Reg.) took fourth place in 18:24.13.  Larissa Pywowariw (fr. Bordentown, NJ/Bordentown Reg.) finished 12th (19:06.72).  Gabby Prendergast (sr. Blackwood, NJ/Highland Reg.) and Priscila Antuna (sr. Waretown, NJ/Southern Reg.) were 15th (19:10.98) and 16th (19:12.31) respectively.  Samantha Farina (jr. Bayville, NJ/Central Reg.) had a 21st place (19:25.09) and Onyi Obelle (so. Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) was 26th (19:31.86). 

Rowan also captured first in the sub varsity race.  Kathryn Juniewiz (fr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) was the individual winner (19:30) while Samantha Stapleton (sr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) was second (19:37) followed by Ashlee Hitchner (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Delsea Reg.) third (19:42).  Catherine Nolan (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Holy Spirit) came in ninth (20:45) and Christina Ricci (so. Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood) was 15th (21:06).  Francesca Contino (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) and Lisa Leszcynski (so. Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) were 20th (21:26) and 23rd (21:40) respectively.
