Women's Cross Country Takes Second At NJAC Championships

WOODLAND PARK, NJ – The Rowan University women's cross country team took second place at the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championships on Saturday.  The race was held at Garret Mountain.  The Profs' Meghan Borz was the individual champion.

Borz (sr. Buena, NJ/Buena Reg.) finished the 6K course with a winning time of 23:15.7.  She was Rowan's fifth straight conference individual champion.  Christin Bettis (so. Hammonton, NJ/Hammonton) followed second in 23:19.5.  Gabby Prendergast (sr. Blackwood, NJ/Highland Reg.) took ninth place (24:28.7).  Samantha Stapleton (sr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) and Samantha Farina (jr. Bayville, NJ/Central Reg.) were 12th (24:49.1) and 14th (24:57.1) respectively. 

Onyi Obelle (so. Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) came in 16th (25:01.3) and Priscila Antuna (sr. Waretown, NJ/Southern Reg.) was 21st (25:22.6).  Catherine Nolan (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Holy Spirit) finished 24th (25:32.9) and Grace Kaler (sr. Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany Hills) was 27th (25:48.3).
