The top two teams in each of the eight regions automatically qualify for the national championship. The NCAA cross country committee will select the next 16 teams for at-large-berths. The top five teams in each region are in consideration for the berths. There will be seven individuals from each region that will automatically qualify for the national championships. This is determined by removing the team championship qualifiers from regionals and renumbering the remaining individuals that are not with a qualifying team.
