NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA – The Rowan University women’s cross country team came in second at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational in the 5K varsity run on Saturday.  There were 38 schools in the women’s varsity race.

For the Profs, Danielle Czohla (sr. Lafayette, NJ/High Point Reg.) finished 17th in 18:59 among 293 runners.  Meghan Borz (jr. Buena, NJ/Buena Reg.) followed 19th with a time of 19:01.  Gabby Prendergast (jr. Blackwood, NJ/Highland Reg.) took 32nd place (19:19).  Deana Wood (fr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) and Joy Hanke (sr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) were 40th (19:26) and 41st (19:27) respectively. 

Samantha Stapleton (jr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) had a 46th place (19:35).  Brenda Mendez (so. Glassboro, NJ/Delsea Reg.) finished 62nd (19:54) while Catherine Nolan (so. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Holy Spirit) was 64th (19:57).

In the women’s sub varsity race, Rowan took third out 19 teams.  Vanessa Wright (jr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) finished second with a time of 18:44.  Onyi Obelle (fr. Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) came in 20th (20:15) while Priscila Antuna (jr. Waretown, NJ/Southern Reg.) and Lisa Leszcynski (fr. Trenton, NJ/Robbinsville) were 21st (20:20) and 23rd (20:30) respectively.  Corrie Gethard (jr. Toms River, NJ/Southern Reg.) had a 40th place (21:04). 

The Profs will compete at the Lehigh Paul Short Invitational on Friday, September 28.
