GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men’s soccer team defeated Stevenson University,  1-0 on Saturday.   

The winning goal was scored by midfielder Dylan Smith (jr. Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) off a pass from forward Christian Fountain (so. Bridgeton, NJ/St. Augustine Prep).  The goal came at 30:10 in the first half.  Smith’s shot hit the lower right side of the Mustangs’ net.

Stevenson totaled 16 shots while Rowan registered 15.  Profs’ goalkeeper Michael Fanz-Huster (sr. Waterford, NJ/Hammonton) made nine saves.  Goalie Kenneth Hersey (fr. Clarksville, MD/Atholton) stopped five shots for the Mustangs. 

Stevenson drops to 3-4 on the season while Rowan improves to 3-3.

Next week, Rowan hosts Rutgers-Camden in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game on Wednesday, September 19 at 7:00 p.m.
