SALISBURY, MD – The Rowan University women’s cross country team won the Salisbury University Fall Classic on Saturday. The 6K course was at Winter Place Park.
The Profs’ Danielle Czohla (sr. Lafayette, NJ/High Point Reg.) took first with a time of 22:21 while teammate Meghan Borz (jr. Buena, NJ/Buena Reg.) followed second (22:26). Deana Wood (fr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) came in 10th (23:16) while Joy Hanke (sr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) was 22nd (23:41). Gabby Prendergast (jr. Blackwood, NJ/Highland Reg.) took 25th (23:54) and Samantha Stapleton (jr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) was 32nd (24:15). The Profs finished with 57 points among 10 schools.
Onyi Obelle (fr. Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) took 43rd place (24:37) followed by Brenda Mendez (so. Glassboro, NJ/Delsea Reg.), 44th (24:39). Catherine Nolan (so. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Holy Spirit) had a 52nd place (24:55). Priscila Antuna (jr. Waretown, NJ/Southern Reg.) came in 56th (25:12) and Vanessa Valdes (fr. Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) was 57th (25:13). Jessalynn Wright (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) took 74th (26:14) and Kristen Abitante (fr. Upper Saddle River, NJ/Northern Highlands Reg.) was 79th (26:22).
Next Saturday, Rowan travels to Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, NY for the Fordham Invitational.
