GALLOWAY, NJ – The Rowan University women’s cross country team won the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship for the second straight year.  The 6K course was at Richard Stockton College. 

Danielle Czohla (sr. Lafayette, NJ/High Point Reg.) was the individual champion with a winning time and season best of 21:54.66.  Meghan Borz (jr. Buena, NJ/Buena Reg.) came in third place (22:24.35) while Joy Hanke (sr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) and Deana Wood (fr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) were sixth (23:12.10) and seventh (23:15.07) respectively.  Onyi Obelle (fr. Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) came in 13th place (23:46.21). 

Gabby Prendergast (jr. Blackwood, NJ/Highland Reg.) finished 16th (23:50.82) followed by Priscila Antuna (jr. Waretown, NJ/Southern Reg.), 17th (23:51.07).  Melirah Searcy (so. Edison, NJ/Edison) had a 24th place (24:11.19).  Samantha Stapleton (jr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown), Lisa Leszcynski (fr. Trenton, NJ/Robbinsville) and Brenda Mendez (so. Glassboro, NJ/Delsea Reg.) were 34th (24:49.92), 35th (25:11.52) and 36th (25:25.42) respectively.  Alexus Streater (so. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) had a 48th place (26:23.04). 

Jessalynn Wright (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) came in 50th (26:26.15) followed by Vanessa Valdes (fr. Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack), 51st (26:27.75).  Catherine Nolan (so. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Holy Spirit) took 53rd (26:39.12) and Laura DuBois (fr. Pittsgrove, NJ/A.P. Schalick) was 54th (26:41.42).  Mary Gonzales (sr. Glassboro, NJ/Paul VI) and Francesca Contino (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) were 60th (27:03.73) and 61st (27:23.96) respectively. 

In two weeks, Rowan will compete at the NCAA Atlantic Regional on Saturday, November 10 at noon.  The regional will be held at Genesee Valley Park in Rochester, NY.
