GLASSBORO, NJ – Midfielder Ryan Gordon scored three goals to lead the Rowan University men’s soccer team over Medgar Evers College, 7-0 in a nonconference game on Saturday night.

Goalie Michael Boisselle (sr. Holland, PA/Council Rock S.) who started at forward, contributed with two goals. He also played 14:51 minutes in the Profs’ net. Midfielder John Loiodice (sr. Brick, NJ/Brick Mem.) and forward Julian Berrios (so. Lakewood, NJ/Calvary Academy) each scored one goal. Midfielder Nick Bolton (fr. Dover, DE/Dover) and forward Devon Garner (fr. Browns Mills, NJ/Pemberton Twp.) registered two assists apiece. Back Lou Buonocore (fr. Hazlet, NJ/Raritan) added one assist.

Rowan took 15 shots while Medgar Evers only had three. The Cougars’ goalkeeper Christopher Welsh (fr. Brooklyn, NY/St. Edmond Campion) made two saves. Prof goalie Charlie Cunliffe (sr. Lakewood, NJ/Lakewood) played the first half. Goalie Michael Fanz-Huster (so. Waterford, NJ/Hammonton) stopped two shots in the final 30:09.

The Profs are 6-11-2 overall while the Cougars have a 6-9-2 record. Rowan was ahead 5-0 after the first half. Boisselle started the scoring at 1:27 when he headed in a cross from Bolton. Loiodice’s goal was unassisted at 21:12. Gordon (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill W.) had his first goal at 25:48 and less than a minute later, he scored his second. Bolton assisted on the first one. At 28:36, Berrios knocked in a pass from Buonocore into the left corner of the net.

Gordon’s third goal came at 47:55 with an assist from Garner. Boisselle ended the scoring with another header on a cross from Garner.

Next week, Rowan travels to The College of New Jersey on Wednesday, October 27 for the final game of the season at 7 p.m.
