DAVENPORT, FL - #8/#10 Rowan suffered its first loss of the season as the Profs were held to one run by SUNY Oneonta in an 8-1 decision at the RussMatt Invitational. Rowan fell behind at the start and saw the deficit grow in the late innings.

Oneonta (7-3) scored two in the second and one on a sacrifice fly to stake the 2-0 lead. Rowan scored its lone run in the third as
Damon Suriani singled home
Mason Dorsey.

The Red Dragons added four in the sixth, highlighted by a three-run home run from Carlos Almanzar.

Rowan committed errors in the final two innings to allow Oneonta to score a run in both the eighth and ninth.

The Profs had just five hits on the day with Suriani and
Kyle Lamanteer each picking up two.
Jake Andrey made the start for Rowan and took the loss, with
Collin Denton,
Evan Brasberger,
Nick Watson and
Shane Sax all making appearances. For Oneonta, Jake Quigley went eight innings and struck out six Profs.

The Profs will look to rebound on Saturday when they face Bethel in Davenport at 4 p.m.
