Mike Dickson Honored as the ABCA/ATEC NCAA Division III Region IV Coach of the Year

GREENSBORO, NC – Rowan's Mike Dickson has been named the 2026 ABCA/ATEC NCAA Division III Region IV Coach of the Year after guiding the Profs to their second consecutive trip to the NCAA College World Series. It marks the second time that Dickson has earned the region's top honor, having also achieved the feat in 2021.

In his 12th season at his alma mater, Dickson guided the Profs to a 38-7 record, which ties the most victories in his tenure. Rowan captured the 2026 NJAC Championship, its third crown under Dickson, and claimed the NCAA Gorham (Maine) Regional title. The Profs then won their second consecutive NCAA Super Regional Championship by sweeping Randolph-Macon at home, in the first time that Rowan hosted that round of post-season play.

Dickson and staff received the NJAC's Coaching Staff of the Year award in 2026, marking the third time he has earned the conference's honor. He also picked up the region's top coaching award this year from D3baseball.com.

The 2026 Rowan squad was one of the top offensive teams in the nation, ranking sixth in scoring (10.3 runs per game) and seventh in on-base percentage (.460) while posting the third-best winning percentage (.844) in NCAA Division III. The Profs were nationally-ranked all season and came in at #4 in the final ABCA Coaches Poll of 2026.

Dickson owns a 351-139 record in 12 seasons at Rowan and reached another personal milestone this year when he recorded his 700th career victory. In 19 years as a head coach, he is 711-227.

The ABCA/ATEC Regional and National Coaches of the Year are selected by members of the ABCA, with the process led by the ABCA All-America & Coach of the Year committees in all nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and High School.

The 2026 ABCA/ATEC National Coaches of the Year in all divisions will be announced on Wednesday, June 24.
