Watson Picks Up Second All-American Honor at NCAA Swimming Championships

GREENSBORO, NC -- Jack Watson earned his second All American of the championships, and first first-team honors as he placed sixth in the 100 backstroke finals with a new school record of 47.36 on day three of the Division III Swimming and Diving Championships held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Watson clocked in at 47.84 in the prelims earlier in the day to reach the final. On Wednesday, he was in the 50 free where was named a second-team All-American.

Ella Pennington was 19th in the women's 100 backstroke preliminaries in a time of 56.40, a season best.

The 800 free relay foursome of Alex Volin, Tobias Cahnbley, Watson, and Justin Goglia placed tenth in a time of 6:47.00.

Tomorrow the championships conclude with Pennington in the women's 200 back with Watson and Cahnbley in the men's 200 back. The men's 400 free relay will also see action as well.
