STATEN ISLAND, NY -- Rowan kickstarted the indoor season on Friday at the FastTrack Season Opener at the Ocean Breeze Complex with a school record in its ranks.
Marquise Young set a school record in the 60 meter hurdles, running a 7.82 in the preliminaries which ties the second-fastest time in Division III. He would finish in a tie for first in the finals (8.29).

Other top performances on the day came from
Amara Conte winning the 500 meters (1:04.35) and
Evan Corcoran finishing first in the 200 (21.73).
The 4x400 relay squad of
Nana Agyemang, Corcoran,
Jah'mere Beasley and Conte took first in a time of 3:16.82.
Profs' highlights on the day include

Masai Byrd was second in the prelims (7.01) and third in the finals (7.12) of the 60 meters
- Also in the 200 meters, Agyemang and Beasley were third (22.33) and fifth (22.52) respectively while
Robert McKinney was seventh (22.84)
- In the throws,
Josh Caudill took second in the shot (13.86 meters) while
Ian Bain was fourth in the weight throw (14.45)

Kway Nkrumah and
Anaias Hughes went third (1.88 meters) and fourth (1.83) in the high jump
There was no team scoring at the event.
