Baseball to Open NCAA World Series vs. Wheaton on Friday

GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan baseball team begins its quest for the national championship on Friday, June 4 when it takes on Wheaton (MA) in the NCAA Division III World Series at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids, IA. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m. Eastern (4:30 p.m. local).

CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKET
 
The winner of that game will advance to play on Saturday at 8:45 p.m. ET to meet the winner of the Salisbury vs. SUNY-Cortland contest. The Rowan-Wheaton (18-5) loser will face the Salisbury-SUNY loser on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. ET.
 
Rowan (29-4), which won the Marietta Ohio Regional, is making its seventh appearance in the World Series, with the most recent coming with back-to-back berths in 2004 and 2005. The Profs have two national titles in their history, in 1978 and 1979.

The double elimination, pool play tournament is set to run through June 8, or June 9, if necessary.
