CHESTER, PA – The Rowan University women's outdoor track & field team claimed fourth place at the Widener University Invitational on Saturday.
The Profs scored 73 total points over 20 events.
Darielle Cross (jr. Cliffwood, NJ/Matawan Reg.) won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.56.
Aspen McMillan (sr. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) followed in third (14.88) and
Nicole Notarianni (so. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) was ninth (15.47).
The 4x100 meter relay of
Kierston Johnson (fr. Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest),
Sidney McLeod-Whitener (so. Philadelphia, PA/Friends' Central School),
Aaniyah Robinson (so. Totowa, NJ/Passaic County Tech.) and Cross was victorious with a season best time of 47.40.
In the 100 meter dash, Robinson took second in 12.28.
Myiah Sturdivant (so. Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek Reg.) earned fourth with a time of 12.55, while McLeod-Whitener was seventh (12.79).
Sturdivant also competed in the 200 meters and finished fourth in 25.63. Robinson was next with a time of 25.65, while Cross and
Melina Johnson (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) placed sixth (25.89) and eighth (25.93) respectively. Cross recorded a season best time.
Michelle Macauley (sr. Somerset, NJ/Franklin Twp.) placed second in the long jump with a leap of 18' 1" (5.51 m).
In the 800 meters,
Claire Incantalupo (sr. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) was fifth with a time of 2:19.37.
Madison Edwards (fr. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) took 10th in the 5000 meters, crossing the line in 18:55.70.
Carrie Wunder (jr. Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May Reg.) earned ninth in the hammer throw with a distance of 127' 5" (38.83 m), while
Olivia Scattergood (so. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) was 11th (125' 10", 38.36 m).
The women's track & field team travels to the Penn Relays, starting on Thursday, April 25 and ending on Saturday, April 27. Rowan will also participate in the Carol & John Covert Classic at Moravian College on Saturday, April 27.
