Box Score JENKINTOWN, PA – The Penn State Abington baseball team scored three runs in the seventh inning for a 10-7 win over Rowan University on Tuesday.
With the bases loaded, second baseman Ryan McCarty (fr. Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) was hit by a pitch and shortstop Jaden Himmelreich (fr. Temple, PA/Wilson) scored the go ahead run. First baseman Tyler DiPatri (jr. Pedricktown, NJ/Penns Grove) then drove in two runs with a single to center field.
The Nittany Lions are 22-7 overall and the Profs have a 26-7 record.
Right-hander Zach Bregenzer (fr. Hopewell, NJ/Hopewell Valley Central) threw five relief innings for the victory. He (3-1) scattered five hits and did not give up a run. Righty

Designated hitter Julio Aira IV (so. Miami, FL/Belen Jesuit Prep) produced three RBIs for Penn State Abington. Center fielder Stevie Stevenson (so. Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) contributed with two hits and one run. Third baseman Kyle Marshall (jr. Fairless Hills, PA/Pennsburg) scored three runs. McCarty ended the game with two RBIs and one run. Right fielder Paul Woodley (fr. Levittown, PA/Northern Burlington Reg.) crossed the plate two times.

The Profs were ahead 5-2 after three innings. Strickland's three-run homer came in the third inning. Rowan added two more runs, one in the fourth and fifth for a 7-2 lead. In the fourth, Mendel drove in Shane with a single to left field. Catcher
Zach Leach (so. Long Valley, NJ/Pope John XXIII) had a sacrifice fly in the fifth, which scored Strickland. The Nittany Lions recorded four runs in the bottom of the fifth to pull within one. They tied the score in the sixth with a RBI single by Aira.
