Box Score STATEN ISLAND, NY – The Rowan University men's soccer team defeated John Jay College, 6-0 on Saturday afternoon and has won its first five games of the season for the first time since 2002.
The Profs began the 2002 campaign with 10 straight victories. The Bloodhounds have a record of 1-4. The win gave Rowan the CSI Fall Festival title and forward
Travis Ward (jr. New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) was named the Most Valuable Player.

Kyle Dennis (so. South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) played 23:38 and
Kyler White (so. Haddon Twp., NJ/Haddon Twp.) saw 21:22 of action. Goalie
Noah Baker (fr. Marlboro, NJ/Colts Neck) was in net for the second half. John Jay goalie Alexandros Taliotis (jr. Limassol, Cyprus/Benjamin N. Cardozo) stopped 12 shots.
Ward tallied three goals. Forwards
Burak Ozdemir (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) and
Shane Doherty (so. Delran, NJ/Delran) hit the back of the net once. Back
Brian Dziobak (so. Freehold, NJ/Freehold Twp.) tallied a goal and an assist. Back
Ryan Logar (fr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.), midfielders
Tyler Logar (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) and
Alex Kardos (so. Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) each had one assist. Forward
Zack Sakena (so. Upper Twp, NJ/Ocean City) collected two helpers.
Ward scored at 6:26 and 9:09 of the first half for a 2-0 Rowan lead.
Tyler Logar was awarded the assist on the first goal and
Ryan Logar assisted on the second. Ozdemir made it 3-0 with 31:55 to play in the first half with an assist from Dziobak. Doherty scored (14:12) from Kardos and Ward picked-up his third tally (15:21) off a cross from Sakena for a 4-0 advantage. Dziobak capped the scoring with 7:25 on the clock in the first with an assist from Sakena.
Rowan is back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at Hood College with a 4 p.m. kickoff.
