Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University baseball team defeated Neumann University, 13-3 on Tuesday.
Right-hander
Sam Nocito (so. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) threw five innings for the win. He (1-0) allowed three hits and two runs. Lefty Patrick Graham (jr. Delran, NJ/Holy Cross) took the loss. He (2-2) gave up three hits and four unearned runs in three innings.
Both teams are 7-9 on the season. Third baseman
Matt Jolly (jr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) led the Profs with two hits (two at bats) and three RBIs. Catcher
Greg Myers (sr. Westmont, NJ/Haddon Twp.) contributed with two hits, one RBI and two runs. First baseman
Steven Todd (sr. Millstone Twp., NJ/Allentown) recorded a triple, one RBI and one run.
Second baseman
Evan Hughes (sr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) chipped in with a double and two RBIs. Center fielder
Shane Brown (jr. Annandale, NJ/North Hunterdon Reg.), left fielder
Eric Oliver (sr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) and designated hitter
Monny Strickland (so. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) all added one RBI. Shortstop
Jason Clapper (jr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape), Oliver and Strickland scored two runs apiece.
For Neumann, pinch hitter Evan Worth (sr. Toms River, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) recorded a two run homer. Shortstop Duncan Balara (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) drove in one run.
Rowan led 8-0 after four runs in the third and fourth innings. Oliver scored on an error in the third. Hughes knocked in two runs and Jolly had a RBI base hit. In the fourth, Brown and Strickland each singled in a run while Jolly drove in two.
Worth put Neumann on the scoreboard in the fifth with a two-run home run. In the bottom half, Rowan added three runs for an 11-2 advantage. Myers produced a RBI single and came home on Todd's triple. Oliver posted a sac bunt, scoring Todd. In the seventh, Balara had a RBI single for the Knights. Rowan left fielder
Charlie Barebo (fr. Emmaus, PA/The Perkiomen School) and Brown both scored on an error in the bottom of the seventh.
