Box Score 2 GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University baseball team split its final New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) doubleheader with Ramapo College on Saturday. The Profs took the first game, 5-1 and the Roadrunners came back to win the nightcap, 4-2.
Rowan ends the regular season with a 23-12 record while Ramapo is 24-12 overall. Both teams finish with a 12-6 conference mark. The Profs and Roadrunners will square off again in Mahwah on Tuesday, April 28 at 3:30 p.m. in the first round of the NJAC Championship Tournament. Ramapo is the third seed and Rowan is seeded fourth.
In the opener, the score was tied at one entering the bottom of the eighth. First baseman

Nick Kreiger (sr. Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) had back-to-back singles and catcher
Stephen Petriello (jr. South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) drew a walk to load the bases. Shortstop
Jason Clapper (so. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) followed with a two-run single. After a sacrifice and an intentional walk, left fielder
Eric Oliver (jr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) drove in two runs with a single to left.
Right-hander
Corey Feigenbaum (jr. West Orange, NJ/West Orange) went the final 1.1 innings and picked up the win (1-0). Starter
Ryan Sharkey (sr. Rutherford, NJ/St. Mary) threw 7.2 innings and allowed just one unearned run on four hits. Lefty Mark Doyle (sr. Howell, NJ/Howell) took the loss (2-5).
Oliver and Clapper both finished with two RBIs and Clapper also scored a run. Second baseman
Evan Hughes (jr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) knocked in one run. Todd crossed the plate twice while Kreiger and catcher
Greg Myers (so. Westmont, NJ/Haddon Twp.) each had one run scored.
Right-handed pitcher Brian Cottrell (so. Brick, NJ/Brick Mem.) hurled eight innings for the victory in game two. He (1-1) surrendered two runs, one earned on nine hits. Righty Walker Larson (sr. Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) pitched the ninth for his second save. Right-hander

First baseman Connor Walsh (fr. Waldwick, NJ/Waldwick) went three-for-four with a double, one RBI and two runs scored for the Roadrunners. Right fielder Robert DeAngelis (so. Staten Island, NY/Monsignor Farrell) drove in two runs while left fielder Matthew Chemis (fr. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) had one RBI. Second baseman Joe Venturino (jr. Barnegat Light, NJ/Monsignor Farrell) and Chemis each scored a run.
For Rowan, right fielder
Ryan Pavlik (sr. Blackwood, NJ/Highland Reg.) had three hits (five at bats), one RBI and one run scored. Designated hitter
Casey Grimes (sr. Gibbstown, NJ/Paulsboro) plated one run and Clapper came home one time. Petriello smacked a double.
Ramapo tallied two runs in the second on DeAngelis' two-RBI single to right center. Each team had a run in the third. Walsh singled in Venturino and Grimes' base hit plated Pavlik. The Profs got to within one on Pavlik's run-scoring single in the fourth. The Roadrunners added an insurance run in the sixth when Walsh came home on Chemis' single to left.
