Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University field hockey team won 6-4 over SUNY New Paltz on Saturday night.
Forward Jenna Pressler (fr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) led the Profs with two goals. Forward Kellie Campbell (jr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) contributed with one goal and one assist. Forward Johanna James (so. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester) and backs Erika Mecchella (jr. Gloucester, NJ/Gloucester) and Aubrey Fisher (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) each hit the cage one time. Forward Amy McKeever (sr. West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) added an assist. Rowan improves to 6-5 on the season.
For the Hawks (7-6), forward Dani Ackerman (so. Nesconset, NY/Smithtown E.) scored two goals. Forward Danielle Conklin (sr. Suffern, NY/Suffern) produced one goal and one assist. Back Jessica Caruana (so. Holbrook, NY/Sachem E.) registered one goal and forward Kayla McKeveny (fr. Holbrook, NY/Sachem E.) had an assist.
Rowan goalie Steph Colombo (sr. Moorestown, NJ/Camden Catholic) made two saves. For New Paltz, goalie Antonija Pjetri (sr. Suffern, NY/Suffern) had one save in 29:05 and goalie Alayna Wageman (so. Getzville, NY/Williamsville N.) stopped two shots in 40:55. The Hawks totaled 18 shots and Rowan took 12.
Ackerman put New Paltz on the scoreboard at 2:25 with an assist from McKeveny. Pressler tied the score at 10:12 on a breakaway. Conklin put the Hawks up 2-1 at 11:08. Rowan answered with four straight goals to end the half. Mecchella (18:29), James (23:04), Fisher (25:54) and Campbell (30:08) all scored.
In the second period, Caruana made the score 5-3 at 50:39 and Conklin assisted on the goal. Pressler hit the cage for the second time at 60:29. Ackerman had the final goal at 65:36.
