PITMAN, NJ - The #17 Rowan women's lacrosse team has been picked to finish second in the
2026 NJAC Preseason Women's Lacrosse Coaches Poll, and received two first-place votes.
The Profs enter the new year coming off one of the best seasons in program history and have earned a preseason national ranking for the first time since 2009.
The 2025 squad set the school record for wins with a 16-4, after posting a best-ever 8-0 start. Rowan reached the NJAC Championship game for the fourth year in a row and the eighth time in 10 years.
After earning its first NCAA at-large bid since 2018, Rowan made its furthest advancement in the NCAA Championship under head coach
Lindsay Delaney by reaching the Round of 16. The Profs defeated Western Connecticut State in a Second-Round game at home before falling to #7 Wesleyan in the Third Round. Rowan ended the season ranked 18th in the final IWLCA Coaches Poll
Despite the loss of All-American midfielder
Molly Green and NJAC Defensive Player of the Year
Katie Montenero, the Profs have a strong senior class returning. Leading the way is All-American
Elaina Corson, who recorded a career-best 84 goals and 18 assists last season. She will have help on the attack from senior
Trish Gillen, who was the Profs' leader with a career-high 34 assists, to go with 10 goals.
Defensively, the Profs will have seniors
Jenna O'Neill and
Leah Corkhill to solidify the back line.
TCNJ is the top choice of the conference coaches and received four first-place votes. Stockton is picked third followed by Montclair State, Kean and Ramapo.
Rowan opens the season on February 25th at Lebanon Valley and will play its first home game of the season on February 28th versus Muhlenberg, with a 1 p.m. start.
