Volin Chosen to Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Men's Swimming & Diving Team

GLASSBORO, NJ -- Alex Volin was named to the 2024-25 Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Men's Swimming & Diving Team on Monday. The senior is 18th Prof student-athlete in a row to be named to the local academic squad, excluding the year the team did not compete (2020-21).

A Computer Science major, Volin was an NCAA qualifier again this season, participating in three individual events (100 fly, 200 fly, and 200 IM) as well as a pair of relay teams (400 free relay, 800 free relay) as this year's Division III Championships. The fifth year, who also earned CSC Academic All-District honors, was named NJAC All-Conference in the 200 fly, the 400 free relay, the 400 medley relay, and the 800 free relay.

Student-athletes are nominated and voted on by the sports information offices of 30 colleges and universities in the Philadelphia Metropolitan area representing Divisions I, II, and III. Nominees must meet the 3.30 GPA requirement in order to be eligible.

Joining Volin on the team is Danny Castle and Cole Griscavage of Swarthmore, Nick Jubilee and Justin Nowicki of Villanova, Paul Demesy and Kolos Nagy of West Chester, Drexel's Jakub Kwasny, La Salle's Felix Jedbratt, and Penn's Matt Fallon. Fallon repeated as the Philly-SIDA Performer of the Year.
