GLASSBORO, NJ -- The Rowan Men's Swimming Team defeated Stevens, 140.5-121.5, in the season opener on Saturday from the Tony Lisa Natatorium. The team was also having its PINK OUT meet in support of the HEADStrong Hope Venture Fund, helping raise money for families affected by cancer with financial, emotional and residential support.
FINAL RESULTS
Braden Sheehan captured two individual events and as a member a relay squad. The junior won the 100 free (47.50) and 200 free (1:44.43). He later teamed with Joshua Oliviera,
Kristian Werner and
J.T. Lakso in the 200 free relay (1:28.34).
Gavin Danze was the top finisher in the 1000 free (10:11.04) with
Julian Huynh in second (10:15.15). The two swapped places in the 500 free as Huynh (4:54.85) touched the wall first followed by Danze (5:00.48).
Other top finishes included Oliviera tying for first place in the 100 fly (52.62) and
Benjamin Haddad winning the 200 fly (1:58.02).
The team returns to the pool next Friday, October 17th at Montclair State beginning at 5 p.m.
