PITMAN, NJ -- The New Jersey Athletic Conference selected Rowan third in the 2025-26 NJAC Women's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll.
The Profs finished 17-9 overall and 13-5 in conference play to earn the fourth seed in the playoffs but fell in a quarterfinal matchup.
TCNJ was selected the favorite in the poll as the Lions earned six first-place votes. Defending champion Montclair State was chosen second (with three first-place votes).
William Paterson was named fourth, with Stockton in fifth, Rutgers-Camden (the dark horse selection) in sixth, and NJCU in seventh (with one first-place vote). Kean, Ramapo, and Rutgers-Newark round out the poll respectively.
This season's squad welcomes back 10 letterwinners and six newcomers to head coach
Kate Pearson's 2025-26 team. Rowan will have to fill out the offense as
Kate Herlihy,
Sabrina Araujo, and
Kristina Johnson (who accounted for almost 50% of the teams scoring a year ago) all have graduated.
This year's senior class of
Charlotte Carlies,
Victoria Crooker,
Tuts Davis,
Jes Mastriano, and
Jess McLaughlin look to pick up the slack. Carlies is the team's top returning scorer (5.5 ppg), rebounder (5.7 rpg), and shot blocker (32). Her and Davis, who returns after an injury-shortened season last year, will be a presence in the paint.
The season will get started on Sunday, November 9th as the Profs play at Elizabethtown. The home opener takes place on Wednesday, November 12th against Delaware Valley. NJAC play kicks off on Tuesday, November 18th at Montclair State.
The NJAC Tournament begins on Saturday, February 21st with the championship game taking place on Friday, February 27th.
