Donelson's Double-Double Leads Women's Basketball Over Stockton, 70-60; Profs Secure NJAC Quarterfinal Home Game

Rowan earns the 3rd seed in the NJAC Championship and will host Rutgers-Camden on Saturday

GLASSBORO, NJ - Megan Donelson recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds as Rowan had a strong second half to score a 70-60 win over Stockton in the NJAC women's basketball regular-season finale. Rowan (16-9; 12-6) has earned the third seed in the NJAC Championship and will open play in the quarterfinals on Saturday hosting sixth-seeded Rutgers-Camden at 1 p.m.

Donelson, who recorded her fourth double-double of the year, shot 7-for-11 from the field. Jess McLaughlin scored 13 points and Charlotte Carlies had eight points and 11 rebounds, with Emily Poulas notching 11 points off the bench as she hit three three-pointers.
 
Rowan took control of a close game by going on a 12-2 run to open the final quarter to take a 60-47 lead, with Donelson scoring four points in the spurt. Stockton (15-10; 12-6) got within, 66-60, at 1:18 but the Profs closed it out from the foul line, with McLaughlin hitting three free throws.
 
The Profs trailed at halftime, but regained the lead at the start of the second half, using an 8-0 run to take a 42-36 lead. Stockton got within 46-45 in the final 50 seconds but a jumper by McLaughlin gave Rowan a 48-45 lead at the end of the third quarter.
 
In the first quarter, Rowan came out firing from the perimeter and hit 4-of-8 three-pointers. Poulas hit back-to-back threes in the final 56 seconds to help Rowan to a 17-12 lead by the end of the period.
 
In the second quarter, the teams were connecting on both ends of the floor, with Stockton hitting 9-of-15 field goals and Rowan making 7-for-10. The Ospreys had a late 5-0 run to tie the game at 30-30, and took a 36-34 lead into halftime.
 
William Paterson earned the regular-season crown and the top seed, with TCNJ finishing as the second seed. Joining Rowan and Rutgers-Camden in the quarterfinals will be fourth-seeded Stockton vs. fifth-seeded Montclair State.
