Watson Claims All-American Honor in Day 3 of NCAA Swimming Championships

GREENSBORO, NC -- Three Profs were in action in the preliminary rounds on Friday at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center highlighted by Jack Watson earning a second-straight All-American honor.

Watson was 15th in the 100 back preliminaries (48.74), where he advanced to the consolation finals, placing 16th (50.00) to earn second team All-American. Last season, he earned a first-team selection in this event.

Michael Fracchiolla also competed in the 100 breast (56.32), but fell short of the finals.

On the women's side, Ella Pennington timed in at 58.21 in the 100 back prelims, but also did not qualify for the finals on Friday evening.

Action at the championships concludes tomorrow with Fracchiolla in the 200 breast and Pennington in the 200 back preliminaries starting at 10 a.m.
