Ella Pennington set a school record as the Rowan Women's Swimming Team kicked off action Thursday and Friday at the inaugural NJAC Swimming & Diving Championships taking place at the University of Maryland.

The sophomore bettered the school record in the 100 backstroke (55.78) as part of the 400 medley relay. The previous mark was 56.31 set in February 2020 with the new time hitting a NCAA B cut time. The relay consisting of Pennington,
Kaitlyn Crouthamel,
Lauren Walls, and
Laura Jones took fifth place (3:57.35)
In the 50 free, Jones finished runner up (24.34) in the finals as she had a season-best time of 24.22 in the preliminaries. Crouthamel was fourth in the 200 IM (2:08.06), also a season best.
After two days action, the Profs it in third place (678 points), trailing Merchant Marine in second (809), and first-place TCNJ (903).
