Ella Pennington was chosen to the Academic All-America® Women's Swimming and Diving teams selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced on Tuesday.
The junior, who becomes the first student-athlete in program history and 39th in Rowan athletics history to earn the distinction, was selected to the third team.

Pennington enjoyed great success during the 2024-25 season, claiming three All-American honors in at the Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, earning honors in the 200 back (third place), 100 back (seventh place), and 100 fly (ninth place).
A Biomedical Engineering major, Pennington was also selected the 2024-25 New Jersey Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Year as she captured six all-conference bids (with three first-team honors).
In the classroom, Pennington was named to the CSC Academic All-District team for the second time in her career and was recently inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National Student-Athlete Honor Society.
