Men's Indoor Track & Field

Conte, Nkrumah, Dimit Highlight Profs on All-NJAC Indoor Track & Field Teams

PITMAN, NJ -- For the second year in a row, Amara Conte and head coach Dustin Dimit earned marquee awards from the New Jersey Athletic Conference as the NJAC announced its all-conference teams.

Conte was named the NJAC Outstanding Track Athlete with Dimit being voted the Oscar Moore Coach of the Year. The Profs also claimed NJAC Co-Rookie of the Year honors going to Kwaku Nkrumah.

All-conference selections are based on performances during the NJAC Indoor Track & Field Championships (First place earns a first team, second place gets on the second team, and third place is named honorable mention) while the special awards were determined by a vote of the league's head coaches.

Conte finished first in the 400 meters for the second-straight year and was part of the record-setting 4x200 relay.

Dimit scored his eighth-straight conference coach of the year award as the Profs captured the NJAC Championship for the eighth time in program history. The award is named after former Rowan head track & field coach Oscar Moore, who started the program at Glassboro State in 1971, leading the Profs to an unprecedented five NCAA outdoor team titles from 1980 to 1984. Under his tutelage, the Profs won 18 consecutive NJAC Titles and competed at the NCAA Outdoor Championships for 20-straight years and were the national runner-up twice. Serving as the men's head coach until 1993, Moore produced over 130 All-Americans and 21 individual national champions.

Nkrumah was second in the 60 meter hurdles and took third in the high jump.

Joining Conte on the first team was Marquise Young in the 60 meter hurdles, Justin Kelly in the 3000 meters, Shane Vostenak in the 5000 meters, Nana Agyemang in the long jump, and Tyler Raimondi in the pole vault. Conte, along with Agyemang, Jah'mere Beasley, Evan Corcoran (4x200 relay), and Young, Jarquil Young, Masai Byrd, and Shamar Love (4x400 relay) were also selected to the first team.

Second team honors went to Love (60 meters), Jake Kolodziej (800 meters), Brandon Jarrett (3000 meters), Matthew Conway (5000 meters), Ahmir Johnson (long jump), and Jarett White (high jump).

Beasley (200 meters), Jacob Riley (mile), along with the distance medley relay team of Riley Appleton, Charlie Serrano-Juarez, Ethan Wellborn, and Brett Shea all scored honorable mention nods.

Rowan will head to the New York City Armory starting this Friday for the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Championships (AARTFC).
