USTFCCCA Names Clevenger Most Outstanding Track Performer at Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships

NEW ORLEANS, LA -- Fresh off helping Rowan claim its first indoor national title, Seth Clevenger has been named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Most Outstanding Track Performer at the Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Each year, the USTFCCCA honors the Outstanding Performers of the Championships at both the NCAA DIII Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Winners are determined using a formula that adds together team points scored, plus meet records (five additional points), Division III seasonal bests (three additional points) and facility records (one point). Relay points, if applicable, are split equally among the four team members.

Clevenger claimed a pair of individual crowns, winning the 3000 and 5000 meters and was a member of the Distance Medley Relay squad to put up 30 points using the above formula. He would set meet records in both distance events en route to first-team All-American honors while the DMR squad earned a second-team All-American accolade.

Jacob Balcome of UW-River Falls and Gage Stankiewicz of UW-Eau Claire shared Most Outstanding Perfomer honors in the field.

The Profs totaled 75 points to edge out defending champion Wisconsin-LaCrosse by one point. Clevenger's win in the 3000 meters put Rowan ahead with an insurmountable lead and more importantly, a national title for the men's track & field program.
